It’s hard to believe that this is my nineteenth Hub about the women of Indian cinema.
It’s been a long journey since the first one.
This time we have the standard actresses and models, but we also have two Femina Miss India winners, and one Miss Universe.
And these stars come from Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali language films, plus at least one American film.
And some of these stars belong to families that span generations of Indian actors and actresses.
And we have one Bollywood actress that you can follow on Twitter.
So here they are with pictures, short bios and a few have links where you can see their films online.

Sushmita Sen
Indian actress Sushmita Sen was born on November 19th, 1975 Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Not only is she a popular actress, but she was the first Indian woman to win the Miss Universe competition (in 1994).
When Sushmita was eighteen, she won the Femina Miss India pageant (beating “The Most Beautiful Woman in The World”, Aishwarya Rai).
She proceeded to represent India at the 1994 Miss Universe Pageant in Manila, Philippines and won.
Using the fame from winning Miss Universe, she entered acting, and made her film debut in the 1996 film, Dastak.
Sushmita went on to appear in over thirty films, and has been nominated for, and won many awards.
